Design videos to market a product or service you’re offering, or just have fun creating a video to share with family and friends. The sky’s the limit when making videos with FlexClip.

Video Marketing

There are a number of reasons why video is so effective as a marketing strategy. For starters, most of us are visual learners, and video is visual. It’s also a good way to portray emotion and nuance, while simplifying information and consolidating concepts that may otherwise be confusing.

Clever and engaging videos can also help solidify your brand and underscore your influence, while teaching, inspiring, and persuading. Video has shown time and again to convert extremely well because, let’s face it, in today’s landscape of information overload, how would you rather consume information: by watching a 10-minute video or reading an article that takes twice the amount of time to digest? I’m pretty sure we’d all choose the option that saves us time and effort.

Visual learning is a great method for drilling down intricate concepts into smaller components, in addition to being more time-effective. How do these benefits translate to you as a business owner? Simple: More leads, more conversions, more customers, and more sales. Essentially, video will boost your bottom line, which is the overall objective of any business, no matter what niche you’re in.

Search Engine Optimization

Another significant advantage of using video is in terms of search engine optimization. When you embed a video on a blog post, it can improve how your site ranks in the search engines by reducing your bounce rate. Basically, this means people tend to stay longer on websites that utilize video. This wins you points with Google, which is always a good thing.

Higher rankings equate to more website traffic. The more people that visit your site, the more potential sales. Video is also good for getting backlinks to your site – much better than written content. Backlinks work in your favor when it comes to the search engines.

Lastly, people are more likely to share a video on social media versus sharing an article. This means more exposure for your brand and business. And if you’re into email marketing, you’ll definitely want to include videos in your weekly broadcasts to increase your open and click rates, while decreases the rate at which people unsubscribe.

Let’s get down to the nitty gritty of how the editor works. I’ll be using a template, but you can also design a video from scratch. You’ll be given two choices when it comes to editing from a blank template: Storyboard Mode and Timeline Mode.

The former allows you to trim clips, use story boards to build your video storyline, and organize the footage for edits. The latter puts the controls in your hands. Use the flexible timeline and multiple tracks to edit each detail of your video. Simply click the “Start From Scratch” button if you want a blank template.

A really convenient feature that can be used for any type of video is the stock videos option. These are short clips – ranging anywhere from 8 to 30 seconds – that you can insert into your creations. Stock videos are a lot of fun to use, and there is an impressive assortment to choose from. You can also add your own videos as long as they don’t exceed one minute.

Since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to create a holiday video that showcases an amazing product that I promote. Follow along with me if you want to get a feel for how the editor works. Begin by going to FlexClip.com.

Now click the orange “Create By Templates” button, then “Valentine’s Day” under the “Categories” tab. Then click on the “Valentine’s Day Ad” template:

You are now in the editor:

Note the different areas. On the left sidebar are the customization options. The timeline is at the bottom. The “Adding Media” is at the top. This is the area where you’ll add stock media, local files, and recordings. Above the video is where you can adjust the speed, add filters, zoom in and out, and adjust the exposure, saturation, and volume.

I’ll begin by adding clips that detail information of the item I’ll be promoting in my video, which is a funnel builder tool that I use to create my sales funnels. Get creative when adding elements, changing colors and sizes, and animating the various features.

Always visit the timeline to see how your video is shaping up. I’ll be deleting the stock videos that came with the template. i’d rather add my own as they’re more applicable to what I’ll selling.

One feature I really like is the ability to animate elements and work with layers. Notice the animation options to the left. Access them via the “In and Out” icons. You can also adjust layers using the stacked-squares icon at the top-right. You know how awesome layers are if you use Photoshop.

Note that you need to click the pen icon to edit text. This is the area where you’ll select the text color, size, alignment, and fonts:

And don’t forget to add transitions to your project. Click the icon in-between slides to access the transition panel:

In regard to music, you have a number of options. Either upload your own music, use what’s available in the editor or record your own voice by clicking the microphone icon underneath the editing panel. Click on the music clip at the top of the “Music” tab to access the stock music library or to upload your own file:

Press the scissors icon underneath the video (to the right) to trim the video. Click the icon next to the microphone to adjust the duration of a clip. Oh, and don’t forget to animate the elements you add to give your video more appeal. When you’re done creating your video, hit the “Export Video,” and choose the export resolution.

After that, choose an intro and title for your project before exporting:

Watch my 30-second teaser video below. I’ll be using this short promo video to entice readers to check out the funnel builder that I use. I’ll include a signup box – identical to the one in the video – below the video where people can enter their information to receive the 20% off discount.

Key Points

FlexClip is a great video maker. Once you get a feel for the editor, you can design and export videos in no time. I’m confident my video will be a great addition to my content, and will give my readers an added incentive to sign up for the 20% discount.

  1. Hello,

Your step-by-step tutorial and the FlexClip Video maker is top notch. I have never made a video myself in my entire life. However, your post has made me realize that I can do it. I have been hearing that having an embedded video does help with rankings, but I did not have the know-how or tools to do it.

FlexClip seems like a straightforward, easy to use video maker (i.e. from going through your post). It has a lot of features and to me sounds quiet affordable. Thank you so much for the tutorial AND the video. So helpful!

    Thank you

Yes, FlexClip is straightforward to use. With any type of editor there will be a bit of a learning curve, but that’s to be expected. The features are exceptional and the video maker is affordable. Have fun creating videos for your business.
