What Is OPM Wealth?

On the homepage of OPM’s website is a short video by the owner, Stefan Dessalines, where he welcomes anyone that is interested in learning more about the program. He extends an invitation to newcomers to watch the first three videos in a series, which totals about 40 minutes. To access the introductory videos, you must first set up an account by entering your name and email address.

If your interest is piqued after watching the videos, your next step would be to schedule a call with him or one of the other team members. During the scheduled call, you’ll learn how to get started with OPM. Here’s a brief summary of what I learned about the program by watching the videos.

The first video outlines “the simplest, fastest, and most effective way to start an online business to get you into the 6-figure income level today and for many years to come with no money out of your pocket.

For starters, this statement is deceptive. You most definitely will have to fork out money to get started, and secondly, I wouldn’t consider dealing with cryptocurrencies “simple. The information Stefan presents will be like pieces of a puzzle that will “change your life.

He’ll be sharing the steps his mentors have taken to create 8-figure businesses. Statistically, this model is the best and most effective way for ordinary people to create 6-figure incomes within a few weeks. He then goes on to promise that once you have this information, your life will never be the same.

Funding and Consulting

Mr. Dessalines states that he is not a financial adviser, but rather a consultant and marketing professional. His company is not involved in investing other people’s money, rather they help people with funding and consulting without upfront costs. They also connect them to a variety of educational platforms that will help them in their quest to earn money.

There is no guarantee that a prospect who joins the company will make money. The funding program is free to join, but some of the programs and services that are offered, are not. This is an understatement as you’ll see below.

He recommends to not invest (out lay) any money that you can’t afford to lose, and to be prepared to sustain a significant loss. Does that make you feel warm and cozy about joining. It didn’t me.

OPM Wealth will not be held liable for monetary damages based on the information offered. At this point in the video, I’m scratching my head wondering how this information is going to be life changing. He goes into a short history of how he was a child actor, made a lot of money in the mortgage industry, then lost it all during the crisis of 2008, eventually getting into online marketing and building systems for businesses. What he learned during this process, is the information that is shared in the program.

He goes on to explain the reason he loves working from home, namely spending time with his family. He then states that creating memorable moments with people you love takes money. A guy, named Cory Reynolds, shares his testimonial of how he made $100,000 in 21 days after being with the company for only 45 days. The program has put every single puzzle piece together for the average person to be able to see results.

Stefan then goes into detail about he asked his deceased friend and mentor what type of business he would start if he lost everything and had to begin from scratch. See his reply below

How The Program Works

The second video outlines how entrepreneurs are making 6-figure incomes using other people’s money. Essentially, the program is an internet-based marketing system that uses Plutus Plan, an affiliate marketing company dealing in cryptocurrency.

In fact, it’s the very high-ticket product referred to above. In layman’s terms, OPM Wealth is a cryptocurrency multi-level marketing company.

That’s right folks, OPM Wealth is indeed an MLM where money is made by promoting the company to others, although the owner refers to it as a digital franchise. I can’t say I blame him for this reference – the term “MLM” is a major turnoff to most people. The program teaches people the basics of how cryptocurrency works. All transactions are conducted using Bitcoin.

The franchise, Plutus Plan, includes different membership tiers or levels, five to be exact. Take a look at what it costs to join each one:

  • Hermes: 2K
  • Apollo: 5K
  • Athena: 8500K
  • Poseidon: 12,500K
  • Zeus: 27,500K

Participation Requirements

The third of the introductory videos is all about how to get started with OPM Wealth. Participation requires that you purchase one of the packages above. If you buy the Zeus package, you’ll be able to access the tiers under it, as well. Funding is available if you elect to buy all five packages. You’ll also receive a gift based on the package you’ve selected. Gifts include anything from wireless chargers to laptops.

So the lowest possible initial cost to get started is $2,000, and potentially $27,500. That’s quite a different scenario than “no money out of your pocket. If you prefer not to buy a tier, you can earn commissions by recruiting others to the program. In this case, your job title would be an affiliate. Affiliates are required to produce a minimum of five sales in order to start making commissions. Once you’ve met this requirement, you can start earning commissions on the sixth sale.

Like other pyramid schemes, the more referrals you bring in, the greater your commissions. And yet, like similar programs on the internet, there are many upsells and unforeseen charges. For instance, you must pay advertising and marketing fees in order to profit from the sales funnel. And this isn’t mere pocket change either, considering it will cost you $5,000 a month.

That is if you want to hit the 6-figure earnings the program promises. Who has 5K kicking around that they can spend on advertising each month?! In the training, you’ll also learn how to improve your credit score to leverage funding from various sources. You won’t be able to access the remaining 17 videos until you schedule a Zoom call with one of the company’s consultants. Interestingly, neither OPM Wealth or Plutus Plan, are accredited by the Better Business Bureau.

Pros:

✅ The potential to make a lot of money in commissions and cryptocurrency

✅ The business model is centered around affiliate marketing

✅ Owner is not anonymous

✅ The program may be a good fit for experienced marketers who are knowledgeable in cryptocurrency

Red Flags

🚩An initial cost of $2,000 is required to get started

🚩Company is marketed as a franchise but in reality is an MLM

🚩 You must be well-versed in cryptocurrency

🚩 Training is inadequate

🚩 Hidden charges in the form of advertising

Final Thoughts

OPM Wealth, though technically not a scam, is in my opinion an unethical pyramid scheme. Although, many people are successful with MLMS, the vast majority are not. No matter how you spin it, you’re not going to make $100,00 in 21 days as was stated in the video testimonial. The cost/benefit ratio doesn’t make sense. I can see how it may be a good fit for experienced marketers who have significant cash at their disposal, however the percentage of people who fall within that category is low.

If you’re looking to make money online, join a reputable platform that will teach you the blueprint for building a successful business, without making pie-in-the-sky promises of overnight success. Any endeavor you undertake to make money is going to take a significant amount of time and effort.

Wealthy Affiliate is my #1 recommended platform for learning affiliate marketing. Don’t be fooled into thinking you can make thousands of dollars overnight though. If it seems too good to be true, IT IS! Spend your time and effort building something sustainable that will serve you for years to come.

  1. In true sense, earning such a big amount in a few days (21 days) seems unrealistic. Especially after spending some time with WA. Easy or big money is always a gamble where you pay nothing or pay a lot to lose.

Before investing anything, everyone needs to look from each and every angle of enrolling in a business.

I agree with your point people who have knowledge, experience and ready money can be successful but it is not worth it for newbies. The program should at least have end-to-end training to encourage and motivate people to enter the business like WA.

I liked the overall explanation and detail you’ve provided.

    • Yes, if it were that easy, we’d all be rich, wouldn’t we?! It’s a nice sentiment to think about making a lot of money in a short period of time, yet not realistic. OPM Wealth may work for experienced marketers who are knowledgeable in cryptocurrency and have money to invest each month. For the run-of-the mill beginning marketer- I don’t see that happening…

Someone wanting to make money online would be far better served by joining Wealthy Affiliate. That way they can learn the skills they need to succeed. They’ll be rewarded for their efforts if these skills are applied diligently. Thanks so much for reading my review and for our opinion:)

  2. $2000 is a big turn off for me and I believe not everyone can afford it. Also, we know that success rate is rare with the MLM business model.

The cryptocurrency market is a volatile one. Although there are people who earned and are earning money from cryptocurrency, many lost their money. High risk is involved and experts advise to invest the money that we can afford to lose. It’s always advisable to stay away from the pyramid scheme and OPM wealth is a No-No for me.

    Thanks for this awesome review.

    • Hi Paul,

I’m with you. MLMs and having to pay thousands of dollars in order to be successful in a program are both huge turn offs. It’s true, people are making money with crytocurrency, but they’ve likely had their share of failures too. Anything that’s high-risk is out of the ballpark for me, especially since we have no idea what the state of the economy is going to be next month. Thanks for your comment:)
