The internet is a tremendous resource. There’s no shortage of available opportunities. The problem lies in being able to decipher if the program you’re considering is legitimate. Many are quite convincing. The last thing you want to do is throw your hard-earned cash at a program that doesn’t deliver on their promises. In this post, I’ll be reviewing InboxDollars. Is it possible to make money doing surveys?

What Is InboxDollars?
InboxDollars is a rewards club that enables you to earn money by accomplishing everyday tasks, such as sharing your opinion by completing surveys and polls, viewing trending videos, playing games, shopping online, reading emails, and browsing the web. When you cash out your earnings, you’ll have the option to receive cash or gift cards from popular retailers.
Since the company was founded by Darren Cotter in the year 2000, it has given away over 56 million dollars to its members. The program is free to join, and can be accessed either at InboxDollars.com or through the app store. The company has been steadily growing for 19 years, and owns three sister companies, including DailyRewards, InboxPounds, and SendEarnings.
InboxDollars is accredited with the Better Business Bureau, and has been recognized by Inc. 5000 (a list of the fastest-growing companies) for their substantial growth. Interestingly, they also have an A+ rating. A company can be accredited and recognized, but that doesn’t necessarily mean its members are bringing in tons of cash.
In fact, many of the company’s reviews are less than favorable. The potential to make money is different from actually being able to make it in real life. You will earn, however, earn $5.00 if you sign up…
Can You Make Money Doing Surveys And Other Tasks?
Let’s say you sign up to fill out surveys and read emails. For each task you complete, you’ll earn anywhere from 1 to 10 cents. This impressive profit translates to less than a dollar an hour, but that will depend on how many tasks you were able to complete.
Just for fun, let’s assume you completed 6 tasks in an hour, with each one taking about 10 minutes. You could potentially make 60 cents for all your hard work. And the tasks themselves are not exactly intellectually stimulating.
Some surveys, specifically, can take up to 30 minutes to complete, with the earning potential ranging from $0.10-$5.00 for each one. This means if you complete two surveys, you could in theory, be the proud owner of a whopping $10.00 for your trouble.
And that’s if you earn the maximum amount of $5.00 per survey, which is unlikely. It’s much more likely that you’ll only make 50 cents for long surveys, and 25 cents for shorter surveys, which take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
One member stated that she received a notification, after submitting a survey, that she didn’t qualify for payment. So not only do you get paid pittance, you might not even qualify to get paid at all. This makes me wonder what the stipulations are for qualification.
Emails Or Advertisements?
The emails you’ll be asked to read are essentially advertisements for products and promotions. In the event that you sign up for one of these promotions, InboxDollars makes money. In essence, you have to spend money before you earn it.
To get paid for completing tasks, you’ll need to reach the minimum payout threshold of $30.00. To access payments, (that’s assuming you’ve met the threshold) visit the Request Payment Page. A $3.00 processing fee is charged in order to release payment, which is waved if you cash out at $40.00 instead of $30.00.
InboxDollars offers a referral program where you can make $1.00 for each person you refer. Once a referral creates an account, you get paid. Once you’ve made 5 referrals, you can earn 30% off each new referral for the duration of that person’s membership.
It can take up to two weeks to get paid once you’ve made a request. Gold members, which you automatically become once you’ve received your first payment, can get paid in just a few days.
Can You Really Earn Money?
Can you make money with InboxDollars? Well, yes and no. You can earn money, just not very much. The effort/reward ratio doesn’t make sense to me. The theory is good, but unfortunately, it doesn’t play out in practice.
In the example above, if you opt to read emails (aka advertisements) as your given task, you’ll get paid to read promotions from various brands. If a particular promotion interests you, you can receive an InboxDollars member’s discount, which would give you the first month for free. This is one source of revenue for the company.
You must admit, the guy below looks pretty content with his bountiful earnings:
